Tom Zilian
About the Artist
Rhode Island-based artist Tom Zilian first fell in love with painting in high school art class. After pursuing other interests, he decided to follow his creative streak--enrolling at MassArt in his late twenties, “I tried not painting, and that didn’t work out very well.”
Zilian’s portfolio includes oil on canvas still lifes and a collection of complex color studies, “It’s a process of addition and subtraction. What starts out as research takes on a life of its own, and becomes its own equally important entity.”
